Fairy Circle

This is a collage I did in a small round tin and it is my first try at 3D.  Inside is a little fairy gathering scene.  There are so many little details that are hard to show in pictures but it was so fun finding items that are intended for one use (little buttons) and can be used in other ways for art (little buttons=mushrooms).

This piece I did for the Country View Challenge "Bugs, Bees and Butterflies".
The girls are from a picture I found at an antique store-they were photographed together and I separated them.  I think they look even sadder alone then they did when they were together!  The image is faded so it was hard to pick the details of  the girls up in the photo.  I thought giving them butterfly wings might add some cheer.  I did add a close up of the left side so the baby in the cocoon is visible.  The poem excerpt is by Mary Oliver. It reads "The butterfly's loping flight carries it through the country of the leaves delicately, stopping here and there to fuzzle the damp throats of flowers."

Card I created with  some of the Crafty Secrets vintage scraps I had and inspired by Elizabeth Lincoln's shimmery angel card.  This card didn't exactly come out just how I envisioned it in my head-but the inspiration was what started it. Here's a link to crafty secrets: http://heartwarmingvintage.blogspot.com/

This is a collage I created for my friend.  The poem is by Mary Oliver-one of my favorite poets.

This is a bit quirky......Initially I wanted to do a collage like the Fashion Plates that I had when I was a kid.  Looking around at other designers' techniques I was inspired by Paper Artsy's Julie Ann Lee and Liesbeth Fidder's interesting collages of people and parts!

.
I have been looking at the picture of this woman for awhile. For some reason she looks a little mischievous and I pictured her at a masquerade party.  This is what evolved.....

This is a piece I did while thinking about my work in End of Life.
The words on the balloon are: "her death giving music and bright young life and hope- every year, borne days and nights alone-blossoming dearer-she lifted by the finest manner and grace."
